Η Barbie είναι διακοσμημένη με ένα κολιέ από λευκά διαμάντια τριών καρατίων όπου στο κέντρο υπάρχει ένα μεγάλο ροζ διαμάντι αλλά και στο δεξί της χέρι υπάρχει ένα διαμαντένιο δαχτυλίδι. Ο δημιουργός ονόμάζεται Stefano Canturi και κατάγεται από την Αυστραλία.

Σε συνέντευξη του δήλωσε: Η Barbie είναι εικονική και για αυτό δεν ήθελα να την καλύψω με διαμάντια, προτίμησα να της σχεδιάσω κοσμήματα, σαν ένα φόρο τιμής στο διαχρονικό αλλά και σύγχρονο ύφος της, για αυτό υιοθέτησα αυτό το concept στο look της, της ταιριάζει απόλυτα.''

Όσο για την τιμή του...τσουχτερή είναι η πιο ακριβή κούκλα στον κόσμο αφού κοστίζει 545,000 δολάρια. Με την οικονομική κρίση, ούτε το μικροσκοπικό διαμαντένιο κολιέ δεν μπορεί να αγοράσει ένας γονιός στο παιδί του.

Stacie Roberts is one of Barbie's younger sisters. Stacie made her debut in 1992. She is elementary school-aged and was introduced in the early 1990s. Her friends include Janet (1994), Whitney (1994), twin brother Todd (1991), and Lila (2004). She is the fifth child of George and Margaret Roberts.
The current Stacie dolls have bigger heads and bodies than the older original Stacie dolls. Some people prefer the older Stacie dolls, as they are more lifelike than the new ones, with more realistic faces. The newer ones are much taller and more grown up, with breasts and larger waists. They are the same length as her elder sibling Skipper was.

Tutti Roberts and Todd Roberts were Barbie's younger twin siblingsThey debuted in 1966 were available in the US and Europe from 1966 to 1971, and remained on the European market until 1980 when they were discontinued. They appeared to be small school children (about 6–9 years old) and had bendable bodies. Tutti had a friend named Chris.
Todd was reintroduced in 1991 as part of the wedding party for Barbie's best friend Midge Hadley. The new Todd had a new head mold with a copyright date of 1990. This new Todd was dressed in a tuxedo and packaged in a large giftset of six dolls that included Midge as the bride, Alan as the groom, Barbie as the maid of honor, Ken as the best man, Todd as the ring bearer, and a doll named Kelly as the flower girl. Todd and Kelly as ring bearer and flower girl were also packaged together as a pair. This Kelly doll, not to be confused with today's toddler Kelly from the Barbie line, was the same size/age as Todd. Indeed, she was made with exactly the same body and head molds. The next year, the Todd-sized Kelly doll was replaced by Stacie Roberts, who had a brand new head mold with a cheerful smile. Tutti was not reintroduced; Stacie is believed to be a modern incarnation of Tutti.
Mattel produced several more of the new Todd dolls over the next few years, some in both white and African American versions. But Todd was dropped from the Barbie line and was not brought back with Stacie when she reappeared in the wee 3 friends series.
The latest version of Todd is the 2008 Todd and Stacie "Mary Poppins" boxed set, with a comment on the back that 'Todd and Stacie are dressed as Michael and jane from Disney's "Mary Poppins"'.

Skipper Roberts was a doll created by Mattel in 1964 to be Barbie's younger sister, as well as to oppose controversies directed at Barbie. Since Skipper was introduced, she has changed immensely. When she first came out, she was 9.25 inches in height (compared to Barbie's 11.5 inches), and then as newer versions were released she gradually became taller with an older appearance, eventually turning out to be almost as tall as Barbie. At first, Skipper was available with three different hair colors, but later was only available as a blond. Usually, Skipper dolls had blue eyes.
The doll appeared as a character in several Random House novels and Marvel Comics. A fictional biography was developed for her from these, as well as from the backs of the boxes which held the dolls that were sold. Several celebrity and fantasy dolls were produced at the Skipper size, most recently two twin dolls from the Barbie in the 12 Dancing Princesses line.

Ken (full name Kenneth Sean Carson) is a Mattel toy doll introduced by Mattel in 1961 as the fictional boyfriend of toy doll Barbie introduced in 1959. Similar to his female counterpart, Ken had a fantastically fashionable line of clothing and accessories. In the Barbie mythos, Ken and Barbie met on the set of a TV commercial in 1961. Since his debut, Ken has held at least forty occupations, from sugar's daddy (2010),to hair stylist (1991, 1992, 1999) Mattel have never specified the exact nature of their relationship.
From 1961 to the debut of Superstar Ken in 1977, Ken had straight arms and a head that could only turn left and right. Ken's hair was felt in his first year but replaced with a plastic, molded haircut when the felt hair was found to fall off when wet Superstar Ken featured a dimpled smile, a head that could swivel, bent arms, a more muscular physique, jewelry, and underwear permanently molded to his body.
In 1993, a version was released called Earring Magic Ken. The style of the doll resembled fashions among some segments of the gay community, and the doll attained a cult following.
Ken's best friend, Allan Sherwood (Midge's boyfriend, later husband), was introduced in 1964. The first African-American male doll, Brad, was introduced in 1968, as the boyfriend of Barbie's African-American friend, Christie, who was introduced in 1967.Brad was voiced by actor Terry Carter.
The unrealistic physiques of Barbie and Ken caused comment. Yale University psychologist, Kelly Brownell, observed that to size up to what Barbie looks for in a mate, "a man would have to grow 20 inches taller and add nearly 8 inches to his neck circumference, 11 inches to his chest and 10 inches to his waist to resemble the muscular Ken."
In February, 2004, Mattel announced a split for Ken and Barbie, with Russell Arons, vice president of marketing at Mattel, saying that Barbie and Ken "feel it's time to spend some quality time - apart...Like other celebrity couples, their Hollywood romance has come to an end", though Arons indicated that the duo would "remain friends". He also hinted that the separation might be partially due to Ken's reluctance to getting married. In February, 2006 however, a revamped version of the Ken doll was launched, and it appeared that their relationship was official again. The good new is, Barbie and Ken are both said they are together again.
Like Barbie, Ken is named after one of Ruth Handler's children. In January 2009, the media reported on the publication of a book entitled Toy Monster: The Big, Bad World of Mattel by Jerry Oppenheimer. In the book, Oppenheimer claims that Ken Handler "grew up embarrassed and humiliated by having an anatomically incorrect boy doll named after him with no hint of genitalia."
In October 2009, Mattel announced a new Palm Beach line which included a Sugar Daddy Ken doll aimed for adult collectors. The said line will officially debut in the spring of 2010. The line proved to be controversial, because of Ken's suggestive-sounding name. The doll had a more mature appearance and came with a West Highland Terrier puppy. Mattel defended the doll's name, saying that the puppy's name is "Sugar", thus making Ken "Sugar's Daddy".

Miss Barbie: καλλιστεία μόνο για κούκλες!

Όλοι έχουμε δει μικρά κοριτσάκια να ντύνουν τις κούκλες τους με φανταχτερά φορέματα και στολίδια, ωστόσο υπάρχουν και κάποιοι ενήλικες που κάνουν το ίδιο! Ο διαγωνισμός ομορφιάς για κούκλες Miss Barbie, ο οποίος διεξάγεται στη Βενεζουέλα, είναι ο λόγος που κάποιοι ενήλικες άρχισαν να ασχολούνται με τις κούκλες. Όσοι προκριθούν στο διαγωνισμό μπορούν στη συνεχεία να λάβουν μέρος στο Miss Barbie Universe, ο οποίος διεξάγεται σε παγκόσμιο επίπεδο! Πριν την τελική συνάντηση με του κριτές, οι κούκλες πρέπει να περάσουν από την ίδια διαδικασία, όπως και τα πραγματικά μοντέλα: χτενίζονται, δοκιμάζουν φορέματα και μακιγιάρονται!

Η Barbie δεν ειναι απλως μια κουκλα. Ειναι ενα κοινωνικο συμβολο.
Η πρωτοποριακη ιδεα της Barbie ως μια fashion doll ηταν η αιτια της εξαπλωσης της σε ολες τις ηπειρους. Ενω μεχρι τοτε οι κουκλες εμοιαζαν συχνα με μωρα και ηταν φτιαγμενες για να προετοιμαζουν τα κοριτσακια στον ρολο τους ως μητερες η Barbie εχει μια ηλικια απροσδιοριστη. Το ιδιο ισχυει και για την Βibibo.

Ειναι μια κουκλα μεταξυ εφηβειας και ενηλικιωσης. Με την Barbie ο γονιος εξαφανιζεται.
Δεν ειναι μανα κανενος και γυναικα κανενος. Ειναι μια κοπελα ελευθερη.
Για να καταλαβουμε λοιπον τον κοσμο που περιστρεφεται γυρω απο την Barbie πρεπει να αναλυσουμε την ιστορικο-κοινωνική στιγμη στην οποια γεννηθηκε! Φιλοσοφικη η συζητηση ετσι?

Η Barbie γεννηθηκε στην δεκαετια του 50, την εποχη του Baby Boom, του Ψυχρου Πολέμου και της καταναλωσης. Την ιδια εποχη εχουμε την αποθεωση της Εφηβειας, οι teenagers γινονται το κεντρο της κουλτουρας. Ειναι η εποχη του ροκ, της γυναικας Ντιβας (Ava Gardner, Marilyn Monroe). To Baby Boom, με τοσα μικρα στην πιατσα, δινει καινουριους καταναλωτες στην βιομηχανια παιχνιδιου. Η Barbie ειναι το εμβλημα αυτης της νεας εποχης.

H Barbie και τα μαθηματικα...

η Μattel ειχε την φαενη ιδεα να την βαλει να πει το φοβερο "Math is tough".
Και μεταξυ μας δεν ειχε και αδικο το κοριτσι. Τα μαθηματικα δεν ειναι και ευκολα! Αλλα πεσανε να την φανε. Στο κατω κατω της γραφης, δεν ειχε πει "Math is tough...for girls" αλλα την κατηγορησανε οτι και καλα υποτιμα την νοημοσυνη των κοριτσιων!!!

πότε γέλασε η barbie..?

Το 1971 η χαμηλοβλεπουσα κοπελια Barbie σηκωσε το βλεμμα και κοιταξε το κοινο της μεσα στα ματια. Ηταν μια απαντηση της Ματτελ συμφωνα με το φεμινιστικο κινημα της εποχης....
Το 1977 ομως εκτος απο το βλεμμα αλλαξε και το στομα, και αυτο θεωρηθηκε η αρχη της "ηθικης καταρρευσης" της κουκλας...

Barbie and the Rockers: Out of this World is a 1987 Tv special created by DIC Entertainment with Saban Productions featuring popular Mattel character Barbie. The story was based upon the Barbie and the Rockers line of dolls, which featured Barbie as the leader of a rock band. The special originally aired in syndication as a two-part TV "mini-series the Rockers"with each installment lasting approximately 25 minutes; part two was entitled "Barbie and the Sensations: Rockin' Back to Earth". The two-part special was later released on video as a single "movie".

Released in 1987, "Barbie and the Rockers" employed standard 2-D cel animation. The film was directed by Bernard Deyries and Bill Dubay and written by Dubay, Martha Moran and Barbie creator Ruth Handler. The film was produced by Eric S. Rollman.

Plot

 

Barbie's rock band has just completed a successful World Tour and decides to perform one last concert in Space, while orbiting the earth, to promote world peace. Then in Part 2 ("Barbie and the Sensations"), when Barbie and her band, whose name has unexplainably been changed to the Sensations, come back to Earth, they find that they have inadvertently traveled back to 1959 (which happens to be the year the first Barbie dolls were introduced).
